Some of the most popular questions I have to deal with over last Christmas was to give parents, aunts, uncles, big sisters, big brothers, godmothers and godfathers ideas on what to give to little girls. While it seemed pretty obvious to many what boys liked, most people had no clue on what to give to a girl. To answer this question, I decided to start a series of best toys, starting with 7 years old girls.
So to the question “what are the best toys for 7 years old girls”, I have to admit I myself was not too clear about it. Long was past my childhood, and being a single person, I only had some vague ideas about what today’s young girls like. This is why I made my homework, and got together with my niece and 6 of her girl friends to pool together some of their favorite toys, toys they would love to receive or have received on their birthday or Christmas. And if you have any other suggestions, please chime in with your suggestions.
So the “interview” with the 7 girls went fairly well and after lots of “cute!”, “awwww”, “so fun” and “it’s the best thing ever”, although the girls disagreed on a few items, they mainly agreed on the following as the best toys for 7 year old girls.
Barbie dolls and Bratz dolls

One thing that NEVER goes out of style is Barbie. Barbie is a classic that has evolved, with every new generation. And today, Barbie is more fashionable and glamorous than ever! The girls all agreed, Barbie Pink 3-Story Dream Townhouse has a high fun factor and is the ultimate Barbie accessory to have. But there are also so many brand accessories, Barbie dolls and things to choose from. Another somewhat similar but much more controversial dolls than Barbie are the Bratz Dolls. I myself am not a huge fans of the dolls, which by the way I do not recommend for younger children. However, the girls all seem to strongly agree : the Bratz Dolls rock. And in this group, Bratz Girlz Really Rock! Jade simply won by far the heart of seven 7 year old girls.
Make up sets, hair stuff, nail stuff and jewelry making kits

If the birthday is a girly girl, who likes to go through mom’s make-up, nail polish, play with her jewels, she will certainly enjoy her own kits. The girls all wanted their own make up set and polish set. I couldn’t find a good make up kit for kids, but if you are looking for a manicure set, I highly recommend Ultimate Nail Studio Kit. Also, the world of toys is certainly not lacking jewelry making kits, and there are so many kits and types of bracelet to choose from. Board games

There are tons of board games on the market, including plenty of girls board games. Again, anything label “princess” are a big hit among the group. They highly recommended Pretty Pretty Princess Dress-Up Board Game and Board Game Princess and the Pea. Another very popular type of games are the Little Pet Shop, those cute little pets no one can resist. Littlest Pet Shop Hideaway Haven Game came back a few times and you will be surprised that there is even a Little Pet Shop version of the classic Monopoly (Monopoly Littlest Pet Shop), which makes Monopoly much more interesting and fun for young kids.
Electronics for girls

Video games are not for boys only anymore. Nintendo has revolutionized the world of video games and you will find just as many games for girls than for boys. The Nintendo DSi is a popular choice, as they are extremely portable and fun. There are tons of games to choose from, including many many girls games (Top Rated DS Games for Girls).

Books and DVDs

Obviously, they are classic presents. For DVDs, you can’t go wrong with any popular movie or TV show. Kim Possible is a very popular TV show and has made very good movies packed with action. Other DVD ideas? Obviously Hannah Montana, either the movie or the series. When it comes to books, there are lots of interesting fiction books. The Nancy Drew and the Clue Crew #1 is a series of funny books, well written, and perfect for 7 year old girls reading level.

Well, there are so many more toys and suggestions, but I had to cut it short here. Bikes, scooters, a pink Nintendo DS are all great choices as well. Hopefully, I gave you enough suggestions to help you choose the best present for that special girl.
