If you think that rubbing creams and lotions all over your body will keep you from aging too fast and will make you look ever better, think twice. Indeed, more than anything else, the way you eat and what you eat is often a determining factor. A good diet is the first step to a good health, a better looking skin, a healthier weight, whither teeth, shinier hair. Of course, this doesn’t mean you have to cut hot dogs, beer or chocolate from your overall meals and snacks, or to start eating stuff you really can’t stand simply because they are supposively “good”.
But the problem is often to know where to start. Well, why not here, with with these top 10 foods.
1. Tomatoes. Full of antioxidants, filled with vitamins, such as C and A, tomatoes are great to help fight lots of diseases. With a small splash of olive oil (see #5), they are great food to eat, but on a greasy pizza, not so much…
2. Green Tea. Polyphenol are natural antioxidants that have been shown to help decrease the incidence of cancer, to increase lifespan and to slow the aging of the skin. And green tea is full of them.
3. Broccoli. You may not be a big fan of the taste, but according to a Harvard study, this food is the ultimate food to eat. Anti-inflammatory effects that protect the eyes, good for people with arthritis, lower risks of heart diseases and sunburns, this vegetables seems to do almost everything (it probably won’t save your eyes from looking directly at it!).
4. Salmon. They’re all tasty, but the best ones is the wild salmon from Alaska. Salmon is full of omega-3 fatty acids, good fat and vitamin B12. Not only it tastes good as a sashimi, in a sushi roll or on the bbq, but it will also give you a nicer skin.
5. Virgin Olive Oil. Used in Mediterranean cuisined for hundreds of years, this oil is great for dressings and cooking. It is full of antioxidants and can help prevent cardiac diseases and cancers, and is a “good fat”, meaning that it will lower the level of bad cholesterol.
