Beach #1 : Jaco Beach
One of the most liked beach in Costa Rica is with not doubt Jaco Beach. This magnificent beach is easy to access from San Jose. With the numerous spas, high end hotels and restaurants nearby, this a spot not to be missed!

Beach #2 : Mal Pais
If you are an eager surfer, the beach to be is certainly Mal Pais. Beautiful beach, impressive waves are what surfers from around the world come here for. But Mal Pais is not only for surfers, it’s also a great for other activities, such as taking hike to enjoy the Montezuma’s waterfalls, or booking a boat tour to the manta rays.

Beach #3 : Playa Grande
Turtles lovers, Playa Grande is a must stop and see. This is where you will find the Marine National Park for Leatherback Turtles. Turtles come ashore every year to lay their eggs. Catch the turtle hatching season from October to May. But even if you see no turtles, this beach is perfect to enjoy some peace and tranquility.

Beach #4 : Playa Hermosa
This beautiful beach is situated a few miles away from another Jaco (see above). This beach is well known for the spectacular waves that attract thousands of avid surfers every year.

Beach #5 : Playa Negra
Does white sand and blue water repetitive to you? Then Playa Negra surely will bring some excitement to your trip. Enjoy the uniqueness of Playa Negra with its black volcanic sand.

Beach #6 : Cahuita National Park beaches
Well known for the proximity of the coral reefs to the shore, this set of national protected beaches are excellent for the avid swimmers and snorkelers, who are likely to see 500 species of fish endemic to the coral reefs.

Beach #8 : Playa Dominical
Are you looking for the dramatic sunrise or sunset for a romantic getaway. Playa Dominical has what you are looking for. A bare 20 minutes or 30 miles drive from Manual Antonio National Park will bring you to Playa Dominical, which is also a classic Costa Rica surfing beach/town.

Are you interested in eco-tourism? Try Tortuguero, is a magical destination with lots of charm. The area can literally be translated to “land of turtles” and as a matter of fact, Tortuguero represents some of the key nesting sites for turtles.
