– Visiting the Holocaust Memorial is a must. Designed by Peter Eisenman, this vast network of walkways and columns commemorates the tragic events that led to the death of 6 million Jews during the Second World War.
– The Brandenburg Tor is one of the most historical sites in Berlin. Built in 1791, this gate served as a passage between East and West Germany from 1961 to 1989. Note the Quadriga statue, and winged deity in a horse-powered cart.
– Check out the ruins of the infamous Berlin Wall. Built in 1961 to separate East Germany from its Western counterpart, the wall fell in 1989 when both countries were finally reunited. Photos recounting important events are displayed on its remains.

– Berlin is renowned for its nightclubs. Most clubs open after 11pm, but we recommend you come after 12pm, when it really gets busy. If you like techno, you’ll love what Berlin’s bars have to offer. Most clubs are open until dawn, so enjoy the party!
– You’ll find plenty of excellent restaurants and cafés in Berlin, but we don’t recommend them if you worry about your waistline, as the food there tends to be very rich in fat.
– Berlin is a very cosmopolitan and tolerant city, so you’ll feel right at home the moment you enter the capital.
– History buffs should get the SchauLust Museen Berlin Pass (available at 15 euros) and check out the city’s museums.
– For a small fee, you can take a picture with the city’s guards.
– Germans are more open and pleasant than generally thought, but remember to behave appropriately when interacting with them.
